dm is known as one of the largest drugstore chaind in Europe, specialising in beauty, wellness, baby and home usage products. Through its own product brands such as Balea, Balea men, babylove, Jessa, alverde, Denkmit, Profissimo, SauBär, Prinzessin Sternenzauber, Dein Bestes, DAS gesunde PLUS und Sanft & Sicher, dm has gained loyal clients.
dm was first founded in 1973 in Germany. In 1976, due to its development, dm opened a new centre in Austria and over the forthcoming years it expanded in almost the whole of Europe in countries such as Hungary, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria and Macedonia.
The first dm drugstore in Romania was opened in Timisoara on 22 November 2007. Today dm boasts 79 drugstores, 5 of which are in Timisoara.
