In 1862, under the shade of two brown chestnut trees, the cosy restaurant-confectionery Wood Green Dej was born under the tutelage of the Keller family, a family of Hungarian Jews. The name of the restaurant comes from the two chestnuts in the yard, a name that has taken root in the culture and hearts of the locals.

The Keller family has made its mark not only on the Hungarian-specific menu, but also on the restaurant itself. The classic appearance is given not only by the architecture with neoclassical elements with columns, but also by the wrought iron fence with pillars cast by the same process in which the craftsmen poured the statues in the old moulds. At present the building and the fence are historical monuments.

Gradually, the confectionery began to gain fame in the area due to the quality of the cakes and the terrace it benefits from.
