High summer temperatures can drain the human body more than physical strain. The feeling of thirst is a warning sign of a significant lack of water in the body. You should replenish fluids continuously – even before feeling thirsty.

Insufficient fluid intake causes various health problems, most often dehydration of the body, which is manifested by fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, impaired coordination, dryness and inflexibility of the skin, accelerated pulse, lowered blood pressure. Water is absolutely necessary for human life and that is why it is very important to prevent dehydration in the summer heat with a suitable drinking regimen. During the heat, it is recommended to drink a minimum of 2-4 deciliters of fluid per 10 kilograms of body weight, which is approximately 1.5 to 3 liters of fluid per day. However, this amount increases with people who work physically and sweat more.


Water should be consumed continuously, in smaller doses and more often. The most suitable is drinking water, but also mineral waters, unsweetened herbal and fruit teas.
